Monogram Monday - Origins of English Alphabet Chart

The pretty turquoise bird is from The Graphics Fairy.
Today's Monogram Monday is a chart of the origins of the English alphabet from the 1900 edition of Webster's International Dictionary. It shows the evolution from Egyptian hieroglyphics and hieratic through Phoenician, Western Greek, and early Latin alphabets. The chart would make an interesting background for mixed media and digital layering, such as my examples at top and bottom of this post (both examples are for personal use only).
The chart above is in the U.S. public domain as it was published in a pre-1923 book.

The multiple layers of text and script in the above digital collage are from ephemera in my personal collection.
